THE TERRITORY

THE TERRITORY

San Carlo S.p.A. takes its name from that of the town of San Carlo Terme, located in the Municipality of Massa, at the foot of the Park of the Apuan Alps that UNESCO recognises as a World Heritage Geopark.

Situated at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level, it resembles a natural terrace that looks out over the Tyrrhenian Sea and enjoys a beautiful panoramic view of the coast between Tuscany and Liguria. Inland of San Carlo Terme, though, rise the pointed and majestic peaks of the Apuan Alps, which almost reach the height of two thousand metres (the highest peak is Mount Pisanino with its 1946 mt.). The combination of the embrace of the Apuans with the mellow coastal currents contributes to bestowing on the village a unique microclimate, appreciable in every season.

Acqua San Carlo gushes forth free, right here in the heart of the Park of Acqua San Carlo, at the foot of the Apuan Alps, microbiologically pure, and known since the most ancient civilisations.
